J. Narkevičius takes to Lietuvos Geležinkeliai: accusations levied against the company

On Thursday, scandal beset Minister of Transport and Communications Jaroslavas Narkevičius presented his ministry‘s audit report on the 363 million euro Lietuvos Geležinkeliai [Lithuanian Railways] electrification tender. The minister accused the state owned company on, according to him, belated work, bloated procurements. The railway company apparently paid double for services and made other missteps. He did not conceal that the decision to increase the scale of the tender prevented participation for Lithuanian companies, but denied that the ministry is supporting individual businesses. The head of Lietuvos Geležinkeliai Mantas Bartuška responded that he will take into account the remarks that have been made, however the decisions that have been made are more beneficial.
