All political parties that have representatives at local councils, are sending their mayors and vice-mayors to fight for seats in parliament. Some of them are on party lists in multi-candidate constituencies, others will be running in single-candidate constituencies. A number of mayors and vice-mayors will be independent candidates.

The Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, which has the largest number of mayors and vice-mayors at city and district municipalities, is sending 4 mayors and 10 vice-mayors to the upcoming general election.
