Lithuania's opposition leader to back Dalia Grybauskaitė in presidential election

Andrius Kubilius, leader of the opposition Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD), says he will call on the party to back incumbent President Dalia Grybauskaitė if she chooses to seek reelection next year.

"If President Dalia Grybauskaitė decides to once again run for president, I will call on the party to back her candidacy. And we'll see what the party's decision will be," Kubilius told a pres conference on Thursday.

The conservative TS-LKD backed Grybauskaitė during her 2009 presidential bid by not nominating a party candidate.
