Lithuania's president says she'd run for re-election as independent candidate

Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė stated on Thursday that she would run for the second term at the President's Office as an independent candidate, should she decide to seek re-election.

"If I decide to run for re-election, I will not need any support, I will be an independent candidate," Grybauskaitė told Vilnius journalists.

The presidential election is scheduled for May 2014. The president has repeatedly said she will not give her final decision on joining the race until next year.
