The amendments proposed by the president are aimed at boosting transparency and ensuring citizens' right to access information about private interests of public servants and pending contracts, the President's Office says.

According to the amendments, data contained in declarations of interests of individuals working in public service, leaders of political parties and their deputies, public advisers, advisers and assistants of state politicians should be public and available on the website of the Chief Official Ethics Commission. The President's Office emphasized this was the practice in many Western countries.

Currently, declarations of only some public servants are made public.
