"The Belarusian acting embassy chief was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, and concern over Belarus' decision not to issue a visa to the Lithuanian representative, who planned to observe the Belarusian parliamentary elections as part of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's mission of short-term observers, was expressed," the ministry's Information and Public Relations Department told BNS on Friday.
Zingeris confirmed on Wednesday that Belarus had refused him a visa. German MP Marieluise Beck was denied a Belarusian visa as well. Germany's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Belarusian ambassador on Thursday.

Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Belarusian acting embassy chief in protest of Minsk's recent decision to deny visa to Emanuelis Zingeris, chairman of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs who planned to go to Belarus to observe the upcoming general elections on Sunday.
