"Such a practice should definitely not be tolerated. It's a direct link with the businesses and that definitely casts a big shadow on the whole government," she told journalists on Wednesday in Brussels where she is attending a meeting of the European Council.
Asked whether she trusted Economy Minister Vesaitė, the head of state said she would discuss the issue with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius on Monday.
"The prime minister should, first of all, answer this question as she's a member of his party and a member of his Cabinet. I believe we will discuss it with the prime minister on Monday," Grybauskaitė said.
On Monday, Vėsaitė and her two advisers flew to a business forum in Kazakhstan on a charter eight-seat business-class airplane booked by Arvi company. The other part of the official delegation, which included 30 ministerial officials and business figures, flew to Astana via Kiev on a regular flight.
The Ministry of Economy told BNS the flight of Vėsaitė and her two advisers to Astana and back cost 8,100 litas (EUR 2,345).
Meanwhile, civil aviation specialists believe the flight could have cost about 13,000 litas.
