Lithuanian president going on Twitter

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė is opening a Twitter account, with her official profile on the social network to be operational on Thursday, her press service has announced.

The president will use her Twitter profile @Grybauskaite_LT in English for her presidential activities as well as for sharing the latest news about Lithuania and its foreign policy.

“The president's tweets will provide important information and updates during Lithuania's Presidency of the European Union," reads the press release.

The President has been on Facebook since 2010.

Lithuania's Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius and some ministers also have Twitter accounts.
