"The head of state treated the prince to Lithuanian cheese and honey from personal beehives," the Press Service of the President said, adding that a selection of Lithuanian dairy was also given as a gift to the prince's family and handed over to Danish Queen Margrethe II.
Earlier this week, Russia suspended imports of Lithuanian dairy products, citing sanitary rules, which EU and Lithuanian officials consider politically-motivated.
Lithuania is holding the rotating EU Council presidency in the second half of this year and is actively promoting the Eastern Partnership program aimed at bringing six post-Soviet countries closer to the EU.
On Wednesday, members of the European Parliament were also treated to Lithuanian chocolate-glazed curd cheese.
