"The Education Strategy for 2013-2022 was signed yesterday and submitted to the government. It also contains the same provision we had in the previous strategy that we should seek the allocation of at least 6 percent of GDP for education," Minister of Education and Science Dainius Pavalkis told a press conference in Vilnius on Tuesday.

In his words, currently Lithuania spends 4.67 percent of GDP on education.

In terms of expenditure per student in the European Union, only Romania and Bulgaria lag behind Lithuania, according to the minister.
