The prime minister expressed his opinion on the eve of the third anniversary of Grybauskaitė's inauguration.

"I would like to congratulate the president. It seems to me that the president's three years have been really valuable for the entire Lithuania. They haven't been very easy. And our common work, including occasional arguments and sometimes disagreements, to my mind, have been of value," the prime minister told reporters on Wednesday.

"Discussions are a natural thing. What results we manage to achieve is what really matters. We have held discussions on the ways to deal with the financial crisis, and on many various economic issues," Kubilius said.

Grybauskaitė, 56, was elected Lithuania's president on 17 May 2009, receiving 68 percent of the vote in the first round.

The president is holding a press conference on work done over the last three years and priorities of the upcoming year on Thursday.
