Early voting is an option for the voters who will not be able to come to polling stations on the election day, Sunday.
Voters will be able to cast their early votes in municipalities of the three constituencies between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, while voters of the constituencies in other parts of the country will be able cast their votes at central post offices during their office hours.
On Wednesday, voting is also opening in special post offices for persons currently in hospitals, social care or foster institutions, serving in the military or held in prisons or penitentiaries. Voting in special post offices will end on Friday.
Voting from home will take place Friday and Saturday, enabling people over 70, disabled, sick individuals and those incapable of coming to polling stations.
The candidates in the run-off voting include Aleksandras Zeltinis of the Social Democratic Party and the Labor Party's Ritas Vaiginas in Biržai-Kupiškis constituency, Algimantas Dumbrava of the Order and Justice Party and the Social Democratic Party's Nikolajus Gusevas in Zarasai-Visaginas constituency and Kazys Grybauskas of the Social Democratic Party and Conservative Janina Galiauskienė in Ukmergė.
The constituencies of Zarasai-Visaginas and Biržai-Kupiškis have to hold repeated elections due to election violations during the general polls last October, while Ukmergė has to pick a new MP to replace Julius Veselka who passed away last year.
