"After my vacation, I will immediately ask for information about this whole situation and all events related to the so-called teddy bear flight. We are a state neighboring Belarus but we are also a member state of the European Union and together with all EU member states implement a common policy in such cases we are discussing now," Kubilius told the Žinių Radijas (News Radio) on Thursday.
Asked whether Lithuania should assist Belarus in investigating this incident, the head of government said: "I think that pursuant to existing rules for the communication of law enforcement institutions, we have all opportunities to act based on such agreements, and I think, we'll act like that."
He, however, refused to comment on the lack of a common position of Lithuanian state institution on this issue.
"I wouldn't like to evaluate this situation this morning. As I said, today we'll try to collect more information and have a clearer understanding, a clear position what to do next," the Lithuanian prime minister said.
