Various responses from politicians after police use of force – mayor requests a meeting with the minister

With the police using force against individuals blocking a road in an effort to prevent the creation of a migrant camp at Rūdninkai training ground, politicians have chimed in regarding the law enforcement officers’ actions. Member of Seimas Laurynas Kasčiūnas praises the police, explaining that they prevented a provocation. Šalčininkai region Mayor Zdislavas Palevičius urgently set off for Rūdninkai, saying that he stands by the people but promising he will call for them to disperse, as well as asking for a meeting with the minister of interior affairs in the near future. Former Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has said that the government is acting chaotically, in a disorderly fashion, while member of parliament Vytautas Bakas has called for more active discussions with individuals who feel worried.
