Vilnius hosting seminar for Eastern Partnership countries on Lithuania's preparations for EU chairmanship

Officials of EU Eastern Partnership countries are attending a seminar in Vilnius on Friday to discuss Lithuania's readiness to hold EU chairmanship, specific chairmanship tasks and objectives of the Eastern Partnership summit scheduled for the end of 2013.

Among participants of the seminar are officials of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry announces.

According to the press release, EU Eastern Partnership will be one of the priorities of Lithuania's EU presidency in the second half of 2013.

Meanwhile, other key areas will include reinforcement of energy security, efficient implementation of the EU strategy for the Baltic Sea region and efficient protection of EU's external border.
