The election authority said that the winners of run-off voting last Sunday include road engineer Algimantas Dumbrava, a member of the Order and Justice party, forester Kazys Grybauskas and economist Aleksandras Zeltinis, both members of the Social Democratic Party.
After approval of the election results, the three newly-elected parliamentarians will take oaths at the Seimas. Lithuania's parliament will then have all 141 members.
The election results will fortify the position of the ruling four-party center-left coalition in the parliament. The Social Democratic political group should swell to 40 members, while that of the Order and Justice party – to ten members.
The constituencies of Zarasai-Visaginas and Birzai-Kupiskis had to hold repeated elections due to election violations established during the general polls last October, while Ukmerge had to pick a new parliamentarian to replace MP Julius Veselka who passed away last year.
