A total of 15 people between 22 and 31 from across Lithuania have been selected for the expedition headed by traveler Gintautas Alekna.
According to the press release, the participants of the Mission Siberia project, which is aimed at promoting public and patriotic spirit among the youth, will leave Vilnius on July 17.
Organizers say the group will work on the cemetery that hasn't been touched for more than a decade and can vanish any time, therefore, the participants will face a complex task involving a high degree of responsibility.
Since the start of the project, 11 youth expeditions have visited Lithuanian exile and imprisonment sites in Siberia, putting in order 90 Lithuanian cemeteries and meeting with Lithuanians still living in Siberia.
