"People in Lithuania can calm down as this incident has not and does not cause any additional radiation," the center said on its website.
According to Russian media reports, the state of emergency was declared at the power plant as the level of radiation exceeded the norm 50 times.
The Radiation Protection Center says the increase was caused by metal constructions brought from India. It also added that the level of radiation does not exceed the natural norm two meters from the constriction.
"It is believed that metal with radioactive materials was used for the production of the construction," the center said.
