Learning around the world shifting to the digital domain – recognition for Lithuania

The digital teaching environment EDUKA Klasė, which was created by the smart teaching solution creator Šviesa, has been recognised as one of the fifty most innovative educational start-ups in the Northern and Baltic States. This prestigious award was presented to the Lithuanian product at the annual Northern European HolonIQ Nordic-Baltic EdTech awards.

The Northern and Baltic States region is known around the world for its innovative solutions in pedagogics, innovation and education, and as such, the HolonIQ Nordic-Baltic EdTech awards annually showcase the most advanced products, which change the nature of learning, and open up new opportunities. This year, the competition evaluated over 700 solutions, which were evaluated based on market application, product quality, teamwork, capitalisation and positive change criteria.

Gabija Jurevičiūtė, the head of digital products at Šviesa, says that the award offers motivation to continue to offer teaching content of the highest level to students and teachers.

“Today, EDUKA Klasė offers over 25 thousand different tasks, and their database is being supplemented all the time. Every teaching topic’s content can be differentiated based on the individual student’s abilities and digital solutions are notable for also how they can be renewed, adjusted and supplemented. In order that students’ results would be even better, we constantly invest in the smooth operation of the system and its efficiency,” she says.

The organisers for HolonIQ Nordic-Baltic EdTech evaluated advanced teaching start-ups in the categories of virtual and augmented reality, artificial intellect, STEAM and programming, robotics, language learning, and many other categories. EDKA was awarded in the learning resource and learning environment category.

“Education is one of the most dynamic spheres and the requirements for not only teaching content, but also form change every day. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed that with the right tools, remote learning can also be effective, and so we are now investing in information system maintenance, customer support and other technical solutions,” G. Jurevičiūtė says.

The HolonIQ platform was founded in 2018 and seeks to connect education specialists from various countries, as well as ideas and financial resources in order to find the best and most effective solutions for contemporary education. The organisation announces annual listings of the most successful educational solutions in Europe, and around the world.
