Lithuania's OECD membership action plan until the 2015 ministerial meeting was presented and the cooperation process was discussed during the meeting, the government's office said in a press release.
"The Foreign Ministry is planning to put up the OECD membership action plan to the Cabinet meeting. It (the plan) is currently being coordinated with the Finance Ministry," Linkevičius was quoted as saying in the press release.
In its last meeting in May, the OECD Ministerial Council announced its decision on the next stage of enlargement, mentioning Lithuania among candidate countries invited to open accession talks.
Linkevičius then said that he hoped that Lithuania would be able to start technical procedures in preparation for accession talks with the OECD in 2014 after its EU presidency term ends.
Lithuania's cooperation with the OECD dates back to 1996 when the country signed a joint declaration with Estonia and Latvia, expressing their ambition to become full members of the organization. Estonia joined the organization, often dubbed the rich country club, in 2010.
