Lithuanian dinghy sailor Gintarė Scheidt won World Championship in Laser Radial class in Germany on Sunday.

Scheidt, vice-champion of the Beijing Olympics, was victorious among 133 athletes from 55 countries.

She was 5th in the 11th leg on Sunday, ranking 8th in the 12th leg with a total of 50 penalty points (results of the 11 top races).

In the final two races, Scheidt managed to pass the earlier leader Lijia Xu of China (60 penalty points) who then won silver, while bronze went to Sari Mutlala (70 penalty points) from Finland.
