Lithuanian government to distribute 0.5 million euros to traditional confessions

The Lithuanian government plans to distribute LTL 1.67 million (EUR 0.48 million) to traditional confessions and religious organizations this year.

The lion's share of almost LTL 1.5 million will go the Lithuanian Bishops' Conference.

The Orthodox Church will receive LTL 86,700. The Supreme Council of Lithuania's Old-Orthodox Church will be allocated LTL 22,200, the consistory of he Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lithuania will receive LTL 20,600, and the spiritual center – muftiate – of the Lithuanian Sunni Muslims will get LTL 11,600.

Lithuanian authorities allocate funds annually to religious organizations to be used for reconstruction of houses of prayer and other needs.
