Parents were asked what they were worried about most in regard of their kids. The survey was is part of the EU Kids Online project, funded from the European Commission's Safer Internet Program. Parents were provided with certain possible answers, including "How they are doing at school" or "Being injured on the roads."
Choosing from the provided answers, 9 percent of Lithuanian parents said they were worried that strangers might get into contact with their kids. 7 percent said they were worried that their kids might see inappropriate material on the internet, Mykolas Romeris University, the project's partner, said on Tuesday.
In comparison, in Estonia, 13 percent of parents said they were worried that their kids might see inappropriate material on the internet, and 16 percent were worried about contacts with strangers. The Polish results were 21 and 24 percent respectively.
The EU average is 32 and 33 percent respectively.
1,000 children and their parents took part in the survey in 25 EU member states.

Quite few parents in Lithuania, as compared to other European nations, are concerned about what their kids do online or the fact that strangers might get into contact with their kids on the internet, a recent survey has revealed.
