Lithuanian Parliament Speaker shares her impressions on Euro 2012

Lithuanian Parliamentary Speaker Irena Degutienė says she is following the matches and news of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship held in the neighboring countries. She is disappointed in the tie game between one of the hosts, Poland, and Russia.

She recalled visiting the new stadium in Warsaw that hosted the Tuesday's match before the championship.

"I am not particularly expert in football but I do not close my eyes on the news and the television broadcasts. I watched the game between Poland and Russia. I truly regret that the strong Polish team finished in a tie, but that may not be bad," she said in an interview to Žinių Radijas news radio on Wednesday.

"I have heard expert opinions that the German team is rather strong at the championship and could even be the winner. I am not a big expert but when I see teams play I can tell the stronger one. I think Germany is the strongest team," Degutienė said.

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly known as Euro 2012, started in Poland and Ukraine on 8 June.
