Lithuanian pentathlete Laura Asadauskaitė wins world gold in China

Lithuanian pentathlete Laura Asadauskaitė, 28, won gold in the 2012 modern pentathlon world cup finals in China on Saturday.

After starting the final cross and shooting event first, the Lithuanian pentathlete finished with 5,312 points and triumphed over Heather Fell of Great Britain by 64 points. Asadauskaitė swapped last year's silver into gold.

Yane Marques of Brazil came in third with 5,200 points.

Another Lithuanian athlete, Gintarė Venckauskaitė, finished in the last 36th place with 4,020 points.
