Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao promised to encourage his country's businesses to invest in Lithuania's free economic areas, Kubilius' press office said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Lithuanian and Chinese prime ministers also discussed cooperation in the areas of high technologies, agriculture, transport, education and tourism during their meeting in Tianjin, a city close to Beijing. They underlined that regular cooperation at the government level opens up new opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Kubilius is also to meet with Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang and to participate in the first plenary session of a World Economic Forum meeting, the Chinese Davos.
The Lithuanian prime minister is scheduled to meet with top executives of the telecoms giant Huawei and China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the world's third-biggest construction company, during the next two days of his visit.
