Pursuant to the president's Monday decree, Jonas Rudalevičius was appointed Lithuania's ambassador to Switzerland as of 11 April. The diplomat has served as Lithuania's ambassador to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva since 2009. He will be Lithuania's second ambassador since the establishment of the country's diplomatic representation in Switzerland in 2007.

Rudalevičius will be replaced by Rytis Paulauskas who headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' OSCE Chairmanship Department in 2010-2012. He will become Lithuania's fourth ambassador to the United Nations Office and other international organizations.

Meanwhile Lithuanian's Ambassador to Denmark Vytautas Pinkus will also represent Lithuania in Iceland as of 16 April. He has headed Lithuania's embassy in Copenhagen since 2011. He will be Lithuania's fifth ambassador to Iceland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1991.
