Lithuanian President's plans at London Olympics: Swimming, basketball, and meeting with queen

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė is leaving for London Olympics next week and is scheduled to meet with Queen Elizabeth II, Lithuanian athletes and watch the opening ceremony.

Daiva Ulbinaitė, a presidential adviser, told BNS on Thursday the head of state would pay a visit to the British capital on 27-29 July.

"A meeting with Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled. The president will also watch the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, visit the Olympic village and meet with Lithuanian athletes," she said.

The president is also scheduled to watch swimming competitions with the participation of Lithuanian swimmer Giedrius Titenis and a men's basketball game between Lithuania and Argentina, Ulbinaitė said.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius plans to go to the London Olympics on 4-5 August.
