"When such business councils are established, we are talking about the promotion of trade and economic ties between our countries, despite the differences in the size, economy, and other parameters between Lithuania and the United States. And in fact, business ties have the biggest development perspective and the perspective of being promoted, changed and doing influence on bilateral relations between our countries," she said in an interview to Žinių Radijas (News Radio) on Tuesday.
She underlined that well-known companies, including Western Union, Exelon Generation, Chevron, Fluor, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Strategic Staffing Solutions, Phillip Morris, Maersk Line ltd, are members of the Lithuanian-US Business Council established during Grybauskaitė's visit to the United States last weekend.
"It's an exceptional council as only in rare cases does the United States join such a council. There are only two countries with such councils established," the presidential adviser said.
