It's almost Summer in Lithuania: Donna Summer, that is. "Love is Blind" by Donny Montell will close out the second semi-final with disco fabulousness. Take a listen.
The blindfold is rather gimmicky and the performance borders on over-singing. However, in a semi-final heavily dominated by ballads, the uptempo beat is a nice change of pace. This song's most direct competition in the semi-final will be Norway, which unfortunately is only two songs prior to this entry with the somber entry from Bosnia & Herzegovina serving as a buffer. I think Norway will win that fight, which will make proceeding more difficult for Lithuania.
There are ten tickets for the Final up for grabs. It should be safe to assume at least three of the five former Yugoslavian republics will advance (all five is possible, but let's be optimistic for Lithuania's sake). Sweden will advance and Turkey is a strong contender as well. Assuming Norway advances, that leaves only four spots for the other twelve entries. Lithuania could squeak in, but I'm guessing it will be in 9th or 10th place if it does.
If this song does advance, the results in the Final probably won't be better. Unless the stage performance is memorable, this song lacks the gravitas to outshine the heavy favorites in this year's Contest or many of the Big 6 entries. A late placement in the running order could boost this song's score, but a win is not a realistic goal.
