Outokumpu Vilnius Global Business Services celebrates 5th anniversary

Outokumpu Vilnius Global Business Services (GBS) was established in May 2016 and has grown to employ more than 200 professionals. The establishment of Outokumpu representative office in Vilnius has received a great deal of attention from Lithuanian authorities and media. The event was honored by the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė during her visit to the opening ceremony.

Outokumpu aims at being the industry benchmark for sustainability: the company commits to more stringent climate target for 1.5°C objective according to Science-Based Targets initiative and establishes an ESG Advisory Council. Outokumpu has reduced its emissions by increasing the share of recycled material in stainless steel production to more than 90% – the highest proportion of recycled content on the market. In addition, the company has increased the share of low-carbon electricity in its energy consumption, improved energy efficiency, and reduced transport emissions.
