NEPI Rockcastle has donated 150 thousand euro to the Red Cross in Central and Eastern Europe. The support will be distributed in consideration of the current medical system needs and will be used to purchase disinfectant materials. NEPI Rockcastle Lithuania retail asset manager Antanas Kemėšis states that most of the group’s shopping centres across Central and Eastern Europe are contributing to support at a local level.

“While most tenants in retail and leisure centres had to halt operations temporarily, some are, following their capacities, continuing to cooperate with shopping centre managers to contribute with the resources they have available to the supply of aid. We have all felt that communality is now important as never before,” A. Kemėšis says. According to him, in Lithuania, the shopping and entertainment centre Ozas and its tenants are joining the initiative launched by NEPI Rockcastle in Central and Eastern Europe.

The shopping and entertainment centre Ozas purchased 1,500 units of COVID-19 express tests, which will be provided to Vilnius city medics, who work every day with virus-infected individuals. The retail and leisure centre has also contributed 400 single-use masks and 36 litres of disinfectant liquid to the Santara Clinics’ Blood Centre.

The men’s wear manufacturer Loois’ workshop will soon begin preparing and supplying to the Lithuanian market certified medical masks – the first manufacturing party is planned to hold 130 thousand units. The partners Crustum have gifted the Santariškės Communicable Disease Centre more than 80 kilograms of coffee beans, also supplied cups. Vero Café will also be supplying coffee and cups to medics. The amusement park Adventica, having contacted its equipment suppliers in China, ordered a shipment of protective equipment, which is currently en route to Lithuania. Cafes Wokbusters and Meatbusters have contributed to supplying food for volunteers in Vilnius Airport.

“From the very beginning, we actively monitored the situation, reacted to all government directives and recommendations in order to ensure the safety of our staff and our visitors. We continue to cooperate, just this time – by seeking ways to help medics combatting the virus. It is incredible how many forms of aid one’s partners and colleagues can offer. Support and contributions are crucial in this situation. Thus we call on everyone to help, both personally and together with your communities,” NEPI Rockcastle Lithuania retail asset manager Antanas Kemėšis says.
