Trailer for Deep Throat, a 1972 American pornographic film that was at the forefront of the Golden Age of Porn. The music is from a Deep Throat VHS release and plays during the opening credits. It is a funk version of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" (from Symphony No. 9 in D minor). The original theatrical version plays another song - "Driving with Linda", sometimes listed as "Introducing Linda Lovelace". The recording musicians are unknown and remain a porn mystery.
The film was written and directed by Gerard Damiano, who was listed in the credits as "Jerry Gerard"; produced by Louis Peraino, who was credited as "Lou Perry"; and starring Linda Lovelace, the pseudonym given to Linda Susan Boreman and Harry Reems. One of the first pornographic films to feature a plot, character development and relatively high production values, Deep Throat earned mainstream attention and launched the "porno chic" trend, even though the film was banned in some jurisdictions and the subject of obscenity trials.
Linda, frustrated that her hugely energetic sex life leaves her unsatisfied, seeks medical help. The doctor informs her that the reason for her problem is that her clitoris is physically located at the back of her throat - but there is a very simple remedy, which the doctor, and various other men are happy to apply.
