Guess what finally arrived.
I've been waiting for this one ever since it was announced. My record order from Detriti, which included the Etazhi 12", arrived earlier than expected. So i've had this week to play this record to death.
'S krysh nashikh domov' was such a great debut for the group, and Molchat Doma quickly became one of my most played artists. Going into this record, all i really wanted from the group was the same formula just kicked up a notch.
And that's pretty much what we got here.
This record doesn't sound nearly skeletal as the last, instead Etazhi is sonically dense. While i think the bare nature of the previous record added to the groups charm, the extra emphasis on production this time around, does a great job highlighting the bands best facets. The bass grooves can really be felt, the guitar shimmers in the best way, and the drum machine punches.
It's a sad dance.
