VIVALDIANNO 2015 – THE CITY OF MIRRORS > New, generous and ambitious follow-up to the widely successful project > Baroque music mixed with contemporary sound and new energy > Breath-taking performances of the world-famous virtuosos > Music, film projection and animation, contemporary dance and spoken word In the services of a chilling story about hopes and losses of Antonio Vivaldi – the genius of Baroque times ________________________________________________________________________________ Dear concert promoters and music lovers, we would like to introduce to you a completely new visualization as well as a new version of our project VIVALDIANNO – THE CITY OF MIRROR, which builds upon the gold and platinum recordings of VIVALDIANNO MMVIII and MMXII. We have created a new, unique concert show in 3D. Grounded in the music of the Baroque, it is expanded with contemporary sound and propelled by contemporary energy, as it tells the chilling story of the Baroque genius Antonio Vivaldi and his life's hopes and losses. The author of the VIVALDIANNO project is Michal Dvořák. This Czech musician and producer had asked an eminent violin virtuoso, Jaroslav Svěcený, to collaborate with him on the piece. Its libretto was penned by another Czech musician, screenwriter and dramaturge Tomáš Belko. The visual conception of this operatic event comes from the imagination of Kosuke Sugimoto, the renown Japanese artist, director and animator, currently working at Prague's Eallin Animation Company. A large orchestra, which covers classical as well as art-rock instrumentation, occupies the stage between large-format projections in front and in the back of it. Along with a complex and sophisticated light design that utilizes cutting-edge technologies, this gives the audience an unequalled musical experience in the third dimension. In June of this year, VIVALDIANNO was unveiled in Prague. It sold out the city's largest venue, the O2 Arena, and got an enthusiastic reception there. During the subsequent tour around the Czech Republic, the demand for tickets was so high that afternoon performances had to be added at every stop of the way. Our aim is to give our audiences a spectacular musical and visual experience while bringing to them the works of the Baroque genius Antonio Vivaldi in modern arrangements. These concerts will draw the best Czech musicians as well as the world's preeminent interpreters by offering them a chance to play original and emotional music, which however sounds contemporary to the listeners of all ages. We have hired virtuoso musicians from around the globe for this unique, demanding and multifaceted project: the opening huge-venue tour of VIVALDIANNO features Tina Guo the famous acoustic and electric cello virtuoso. TINA GUO (acoustic/electric cello, USA) Our invitation was also accepted by the American acoustic and electric cello player, Tina Guo. Ms. Guo is the soloist of the San Diego Philharmonic and her musical career stretches across all manner of musical genres. She regularly performs the compositions of Antonín Dvořák, but she has also accompanied the famous rock group Foo Fighters and collaborated with Al Di Meola, Peter Gabriel, Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, Hans Zimmer and others. Ms. Guo has played her cello all over the world with the Cirque du Solei in their show “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" and she has worked on many film and television projects, ranging from Gladiator to X-Men, Sherlock Holmes and others.
