1 in 5 Lithuanian residents receive financial aid from families in emigration

Just over 21 percent of Lithuanians who have families in emigration enjoy their financial aid, shows a fresh poll published on delfi.lt news portal.

Meanwhile, the majority of families of those who have emigrated have to live without financial injections from abroad, according to the survey carried out by Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys) public opinion and market research company.

Asked whether they receive any financial assistance from families working abroad, 21.4 percent of respondents said they did. The respondents only included persons who have families in emigration.

Another 73.2 percent of those polled responded in the negative, while 5.4 percent did not give an answer or didn't know.

The survey of 1,006 respondents was carried out on June 17-25.
