The open-ended cooperation agreement came into power in Lithuania on April 20. Circle K will partner with Bolt also in Latvia and Estonia.
The Circle K remote food delivery service through the Bolt Food app has launched in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda, there are plans to enter the Panevėžys and Šiauliai markets soon.
“During this economically difficult time, we are expanding our activities by implementing solutions, which would ensure maintaining social distancing and would reduce the number of potential direct contacts. In consideration of our clients’ needs, we were thinking of similar partnerships for a time now, and the pandemic simply served to accelerate the implementation of these plans. At the same time, we hope to stimulate economic activity, which helps not only we retain jobs and pay taxes, but also our business partners – manufacturers, goods and service suppliers,” Circle K Lietuva managing director Skirmantas Mačiukas says.
It will be possible to purchase hot dogs, burgers, various sandwiches, as well as salads, oatmeal, pastries, sweet and salty snacks, pasta, corn flakes and cold drinks from Circle K petrol stations through the Bold Food app. The app’s assortment also includes necessities and hygiene goods such as wet wipes, hand disinfectant.
Food products will be prepared and packaged under the highest hygiene and cleanliness requirements.
Circle K currently makes no predictions on what sales numbers the partnership with Bolt will provide. However, the company hopes that regular customers, who can receive food directly to their homes, will be satisfied with the new service.
“The global pandemic has accelerated our plans to expand our reach by non-traditional means and open up more to new ways of serving our clients. Alongside the traditional fuels – petrol, diesel and liquefied gas, our stations will also feature electric vehicle rapid charging stations. The world is changing and we alongside it,” S. Mačiukas says.
Circle K employs over 900 staff and is the largest oil product retailer in Lithuania. The majority of its petrol station network is comprised of service petrol stations, a total of 77, with another 11 being automated. Based on tax paid in 2019, Circle K was sixth in Lithuania.
