The Polish Ambassador in Lithuania submitted Ignitis Group to participate in the competition, appreciating the influence of Ignitis Group in the development of renewable energy sources in Poland. The award is a recognition of good economic relations between Poland and Lithuania.

Lithuania has been our significant partner for years. We are delighted that we could combine forces with the growing and globally competitive energy company in this mutually important area – renewable energy. We highly value and recognise Ignitis Group’s investment in Poland. We wish that such good examples continue and bring numerous benefits and many more occasions to collaborate – comments Urszula Doroszewska, Ambassador of Poland to Lithuania.

It is a great honor to receive this recognition. One of the main priorities of our 2030 Ignitis Group strategy is growing capacities of renewable energy generation, which makes both Lithuania and Poland more energy smart. We believe that together with our partners in Poland we can achieve great progress and transformation. This recognition serves as proof to us that we are on the right path and we look forward to more successful projects together says Darius Maikštėnas Ignitis Group CEO and director of the board.

The 94 MW Pomerania wind farm will start operating in 2021. The investment won a guaranteed tariff for renewable energy projects in the Polish auction. The estimated total cost of the project is EUR 127 million. The Pomerania wind farm is the second largest wind park currently being built in Poland and it should produce amount of energy that would be enough for aprox. 160000 households for the whole year.
