Almantas will visit the Southeast Asian country as part of an official delegation led by Lithuanian Economy Minister Evaldas Gustas on August 30 to September 5.

"I have been included into the delegation to negotiate on cargo flows, as well as on additional aviation services not related to our core business of passenger transportation," he told BNS.

The Economy Ministry told BNS that the airport's CEO would meet with officials from the Malaysian airports operator MAHB and the air carriers Air Asia, Malindo Air and MAS Cargo, as well as the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company NADI.

Issues to be discussed include possibilities for setting up an air cargo logistics center and a long-haul flight center in Lithuania, as well as possibilities for Lithuanian MRO companies to operate in Malaysia, for training of Malaysian pilots and for charter flights to the Asian country, the ministry said.
