Lithuania last year lagged behind Estonia, which was ranked 25th, but was ahead of Latvia, which was placed 34–36th, according to the data made available by a group of researchers with the International Business School of Vilnius University, who conducted the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor study.

“I dare say that Lithuania could find itself among the countries focused on innovation, and not on efficiency, in 2014 or so. We could already be among such countries in terms of certain indexes. This should be our goal,” Mindaugas Laužikas, the head of the researchers’ team, told the daily.
