Lithuania’s retail sales growth 2nd highest in EU

Lithuania's year-on-year retail sales growth rate in August remained the second-highest in the European Union, according to figures from Eurostat.

Lithuania's retail trade volume rose by 6.1 percent in August compared with a year ago, the second-highest rate after Luxembourg's 15.3-percent growth.

Latvia's retail sales rose by an annual 2.1 percent and Estonia's were up by 3.6 percent.

The largest year-on-year decrease was recorded in Spain, at 6 percent. In the entire EU, retail sales edged up by 0.3 percent.
