„There is demand from our customers for high-quality paint-coating of parts. Therefore, we are planning to build painting chambers on the VLG grounds. We are mostly working with the oil industry, where everything must be done with very high precision,“ Arnoldas Sileika, the company's CEO, told BNS.
A.Sileika said that VLG is at the moment choosing between several possible projects, with plans to launch construction by the end of this year and to complete it within a year. He would not comment on the size of the planned investment.
The CEO said that the facility should have an annual capacity of at least 6,000 to 8,000 tons of ships' parts.
„VLG manufactures around 6,000-8,000 tons of parts per year. So, at least this amount should be coated. But the capacity is not limited to this amount. It can be higher than that,“ he said.
The VLG Group posted 10.399 million litas (EUR 3 mln) in consolidated losses for 2011, versus 9.524 million litas in net profits in 2010. Consolidated sales revenues in 2011 jumped by 67.5 percent to 427.937 million litas.
BLRT Grupp owns 96.82 percent of shares in VLG.
