Lithuanians did not abandon browsing the net even in summer

The number of Lithuanian users browsing the Internet soared by 43 percent in July compared with June, the business daily Verslo Žinios reports, citing results of a survey by GemiusAudience.

According to the survey, Delfi.lt and 15min.lt posted growth in July versus June, while Lrytas.lt registered a monthly decline. Year-on-year, Delfi.lt recorded the fastest growth among the three top Lithuanian news portals in terms of time spent on the site. Lrytas.lt grew somewhat as well, while 15min.lt posted a decline.

Tadas Kupstys, head of the Digital Division at the media planning company Omnicom MediaGroup, says that although some say that the major Lithuanian news portals have quite similar visitor numbers, in fact these differences among the top three sites are rather marked.

"Delfi's monthly reach in July was 58 percent of the Internet audience, while that of its closest competitor, 15min.lt, was 46 percent and that of Lrytas.lt was 37 percent," he told the paper.
