Hungary's budget carrier Wizz Air is mulling possibilities to launch flights from the Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga yet no decisions have been taken so far.

„We are looking for a number of airports continuously, and we are always considering several airports where we could launch new flights. Obviously, as part of that, Palanga is also in consideration. We had discussions with Palanga [authorities] and we are also evaluating possibilities of what the possible route would be. I cannot confirm any firm plans at this stage,“ Gyorgy Abran, Wizz Air’s chief commercial officer, told BNS in Vilnius on Thursday.

Local media reported late in 2012 that a low cost route could be opened between Palanga and London in April.

Wizz Air currently offers flights from the airport of Vilnius.
