According to preliminary information, the drugs came to Lithuania from the Dominican Republic and are estimated at up to 10 million litas (EUR 2.9 m). The police guess the drugs arrived in a warehouse of a Kaunas retail chain by mistake.

In early hours of Friday, Kaunas police visited the store after a report about discovery of a large amount of plastic bags containing suspicious white powder in banana boxes from the Dominican Republic.

Examination of the company's warehouses revealed dozens of banana boxes with hidden drugs.
