Lithuania's Prosecutor General's Office said it handed over the criminal case to Panevėžys District Court earlier this week.

The trio are accused of attempted illegal disposal of a large quantity of drugs, and one of the three is also charged with smuggling drugs from Columbia to Lithuania.

The Lithuanian, 56, Dutch, 38, and Spaniard, 42, were detained on 28 August, 2011 when they were dismantling a tourist bus where their accomplices had hidden 50 kg of liquid substance with 26 kg of drugs. Prosecutors say cocaine is extracted from the substance following certain chemical reactions.

The two foreigners came to Lithuania for the purpose of extracting cocaine from the liquid substance as specific knowledge is needed to do that.
