"His visit can be described as private and I even have not received a proposal to meet," the prime minister told journalists at the government on Wednesday.

"You know, I am very busy and do not initiate any meetings, I have enough meetings on my agenda already," he added.

The Dalai Lama started his four-day visit in Lithuania on Wednesday.

During the visit, the 14th Dalai Lama will visit the Lithuanian parliament and Vilnius Town Hall to deliver a lecture. No official meetings with Lithuania's top leaders have been announced.

The Dalai Lama has visited Lithuania in 1991 and 2001. During the last visit, he met with then president Valdas Adamkus for what was described as a "private conversation."
