"Basically, we have lodged two claims. One claim against the Euroleague from both brothers and one claim against Eurosport by Normunds," Kaspars Freimanis of Latvian law firm VARUL, representing the twins, told a press conference on Monday.
"The claim is to grant validity for both of them to attend basketball games organized by the Euroleague, retract the false statements concerning Normunds as an abuser, because we have on our hands Lithuanian judgment declaring him totally innocent and not taking any kind of violence in illegal actions in during the game or after the game," the lawyer said.
In his words, letters with the demands by the Macius brothers were sent to the Euroleague and Eurosport channel last Friday. The brothers plan to turn to court if no response is received or their demands are not met. The twins want a response in five days, but it would be wise to wait for a month, Freimanis said, adding that a lawsuit would be filed in Latvia, if no response was received in a month.
