On 27 September, the town's mayor turned to the police. He reported that two severed ears of an animal, supposedly a pig, were found nailed to the door of a synagogue.
The police launched a pre-trial investigation into the incident.
The suspect told the police he went on a binge on the eve of the incident and nailed the ears to the synagogue door the following night.
The man is facing a fine and a prison term of up to one year.
