According to the press release, after polling stations opened on Wednesday, three investigations have been opened in Tauragė district, two in each of the districts of Vilnius, Klaipėda, and Utena; and one in Šiauliai, Alytus, and Marijampolė.
Since Wednesday, the police has received 261 reports about possible violations of voting procedures.
The number of reports and probes is higher, as compared with the 181 reports received and six investigations started during municipal elections in February.
Between 7 AM and 8 PM on Sunday, voters in Lithuania voted in parliamentary elections and a referendum on a new nuclear power plant.
